Line dancing is a choreographed dance done by a group of people
standing in lines and executing the same dance moves in a
synchronized manner but independently from each other and it covers
many different variations and styles. Line
dancing has progressed from Country and Western and is now done to
more modern music of all forms and we call ours Ballroom and Latin
Style Line Dancing as we use Waltz, Rumba, Salsa, Swing, Cha Cha,
Samba and any other rhythm that suits the pattern of steps.
Line dancing is easy to follow, learn and perform and does not
require a partner
and it is
a
healthy form of exercise for body and mind for all ages, men and
women, and it makes time fly without any undue stress
and enhances your memorization and concentration skills.
Exercise is recognised as being good for you and it can increase
your life span and make you feel good. Line dancing has the
advantage of being a very social form of exercise so that you can
meet people while exercising.
You dance on your own but you will always end up chatting with other
people and making new friends
and the most
important thing is just to have fun and enjoy
yourself
while lifting spirits and relaxing tension.
Remember the first step to any exercise program is to get off the
couch.
Line dancing
promotes co-ordination, balance, body control and posture.
Anyone can line dance even if you feel that you have two left feet.
